Changes to Eire Services
Tuesday, 15th December 2020
We are writing to inform you of some important news with regards to deliveries to Eire, which will impact you and your customers. Please ensure you read through carefully and advise your customers accordingly.
Change to Eire Service
From 1st January 2020, all shipments to and from Eire will be subject to customs and excise protocols. Given those additional customs and excise requirements, we have reviewed whether we can continue to offer a service to Eire within our Domestic APC service framework. We have concluded that this is not practical and therefore we will now treat services to Eire as an international destination, and therefore a non – APC service from 1st January 2021.
Last Input Dates for Christmas Delivery in Eire, by Road or by Air is now the Tuesday 15th December
A significant factor in making this decision have been the changes imposed for deliveries outside the Dublin area, which include significant costs due to increases in non-compatible or incorrectly declared freight. Such restrictions would be very difficult to manage in the APC environment
We will continue to provide a service to Eire moving forward but this will be via our international service provider. Please contact your local depot who will be able to provide you with further details.
Whilst we await a final decision on the N. Ireland requirements, the APC are modifying New Horizon despatch facility to accommodate potential additional consignment / contents information.
Changes have also been made from our Pallet network partners, further details can be provided via your local depot where applicable.
